Types of Prostate Cancer

Modern medicine has evolved in a number of ways. Discoveries have shown possible solutions or treatments to every ailment that may come our way. Diseases have been categorized into where they start specially a life threatening disease like cancer. There are different types of prostate cancer. Unlike other cancers that have an advance type, different types or prostate cancer have the same prostate cancer survival rates due to the slow progression of the malignant cancer cells.

In general there are two types of prostate cancer. The first time is when the malignant cancer cells start within the glandular cells of the prostate gland. This type is most commonly known as the adernocarcinoma in medical terms. This type of prostate cancer is more visible through a digital rectal examination. The other two types of prostate cancer are called the leiomyosarcoma and the rhabdomyosarcoma. These kinds of prostate cancer begin in the surrounding tissues of the prostate gland. Generally the prostate cancer survival rates of these types are just the same at a 90 percent survival rates in the initial stage and less than 20 percent in the final phase.

Even though these types of prostate cancer have a slow progression rate, one must not forego having their check up if they feel any symptoms of the disease, for being proactive about your body maybe the difference maker in a life threatening disease. You may not know, but your prostate cancer survival rates may be dipping down with each passing day that you forego your treatment.
